Bucks County

Bucks County stretches along the Delaware River northeast of Philadelphia and is Pennsylvania's fourth most populous county, with roughly 646,000 residents spread across 54 boroughs and townships and about 600 square miles. Doylestown is the county seat. The county shifts character as you move through it: the riverfront and older industry of Bristol and Bensalem in the south; the established neighborhoods and commercial corridors of Levittown, Langhorne, Newtown and Warminster through the middle; and the farmland, covered bridges and small boroughs of upper Bucks around Quakertown, Perkasie and Sellersville. New Hope and Yardley sit right on the river, directly across from New Jersey.

Four SEPTA Regional Rail lines run through the county: Lansdale/Doylestown, Warminster, West Trenton and Trenton. The Trenton line connects to NJ Transit for service into New York. There's a lot to do without leaving the county: 16 county and state parks covering roughly 7,500 acres, some 475 miles of trails, and the towpath along the Delaware Canal. Washington Crossing Historic Park, Tyler and Nockamixon state parks, Peace Valley Park, the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle in Doylestown, Peddler's Village in Lahaska, Sesame Place in Langhorne, and the galleries and restaurants of New Hope are all within a short drive.
