Success!
Montgomery County sits directly northwest of Philadelphia and is Pennsylvania's third most populous county, with roughly 877,000 residents spread across 62 boroughs and townships. Norristown is the county seat. The county covers a lot of ground and a lot of character, including borough main streets in Lansdale, Souderton, Ambler, Hatboro and Pottstown; the office and retail center at King of Prussia; and open farmland across the Perkiomen and Indian Valley areas, where more than 200 farms have been permanently preserved.
SEPTA Regional Rail serves the county on the Lansdale/Doylestown, Manayunk/Norristown, Paoli/Thorndale and Warminster lines, and the Norristown High Speed Line connects Norristown to Upper Darby. I-476, I-76, US 202 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike link the area to Center City, the Lehigh Valley and points beyond. Closer to home there are seven county parks, nearly 100 miles of trails including the Schuylkill River Trail and the Perkiomen Trail, and more than 18,000 protected acres. Valley Forge National Historical Park, Elmwood Park Zoo, Green Lane Park, the King of Prussia shopping district, and a steady calendar of farmers markets and historic sites are all within a short drive.
